What a great question, the question that characterizes childlike curiosity and wonder! I like to ask this question before dedicating time and energy towards a cause of any sort. Asking “why?” helps me pause. Reflect. And answer, truly, whether this opportunity fits with my personal goals, dreams, and calling.
So, today I am answering the simple question “why blog?”- why share my life, tips, journey, and thoughts with the world?
In short, because holding onto good things is important.
I want to hold onto and focus on the good and beautiful aspects of this life. This is something that does not come naturally to most people, myself included. It’s so easy to see all the “bad” in our lives, to feel like we have nothing to offer or contribute, or to simply become discouraged or stagnant.
In order to hold onto good things, we need to share that “goodness” with others. Blessings and lessons alike are not meant to be hoarded selfishly. We experience the most joy when we share that wealth. It is multiplied back in our lives.
I believe that you and I have been given an extravagant, crazy-huge GIFT with every single breath that we take. Every beat of your heart, and every second of LIFE. Don’t wait. Don’t waste it (preaching to myself here).
And that is my “why”… In a nutshell.
Of course there’s so much more I could share- the loves and losses that have opened my eyes to the massive importance of NOT waiting to share, to love, and to make the most of every opportunity. But that’s part of my story. We all have different stories.
My hope is that by sharing pieces of my story with you, both the written and unwritten bits, that you will find something that encourages and inspires you as well. Whether that be a recipe, life hack, a beautiful picture, a home project, or something else.
