Perfectly Easy Hard Boiled Eggs

Ingredients

  • Fresh Eggs
  • Water

Instructions

  • Select saucepan or pot with fitted lid.
  • Place fresh eggs gently in pot (I've cracked a few when I'm hurrying!) and cover with room temp water until eggs are totally covered by water and not sticking up above the water line.
  • Place pot on cold stove burner and turn heat to High heat for 5-10 minutes, or until water comes to a rolling boil.
  • Immediately after boiling temperature is reached, turn heat down to Lowest setting and cover pot with lid. Allow pot to sit, covered with lid, for 15 minutes. Do not open lid as this will release heat and steam.
  • After 15 minutes on Low heat, turn off heat. Allow pot to sit, covered, for 15 more minutes in order to allow gradual cooling.
  • Using tongs, carefully remove boiled eggs from pot and place on a cooling rack or cloth to cool until they reach room temperature. (15-30 minutes depending on room temperature)
  • After your boiled eggs have reached room temperature, place in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Voila!

The gradual cooling process seems to help our boiled eggs peel easier! So set your timer for those 15 minute segments to get fabulous easy to peel boiled eggs!
